Doula Support Becoming More Accessible!

When Medi-Cal began covering doula support in 2023, I quickly began the process of becoming a provider. I was someone whose financial situation greatly impacted my birthing options and decisions, and so have always cared deeply about birth options, like doula support, being accessible.

Now, after 2 years of Medi-Cal acknowledging (along with the research) that doulas improve birth experiences and outcomes, other insurances are starting to follow suit.

Whether you are looking for birth and/or postpartum support, your insurance may cover both!

Currently, I am supporting clients who have Kaiser both through commercial insurance or Medi-Cal. The Medi-Cal plans I am working with are Cal Optima Community Health Network, Anthem BCBS, LA Care, Health Net, and Optum.

No matter where birth happens, it should be met with reverence and loving support. I'm so happy to know that so many more people can have a doula to champion them in this!
